Three consultative bodies work under the leadership of the pastor to foster the mission and ministry of the parish community, to advise him on the allocation of personnel, monetary and facility resources, and to help ensure that all the programs and activities of the parish are consistent with its mission and for the good of the parish community as a whole. Council members are appointed by the pastor or (in the case of some pastoral council members) are elected by parishioners; they ordinarily serve three-year terms.
The Parish Finance Council is a consultative body of the laity that, guided by the values of Catholic Stewardship, assists the pastor in the administration of parish material goods and resources. The specific purpose of this council is to ensure that all parish resources are used in support of the parish mission, pastoral plan, and within the approved
operating budget.
The Parish Pastoral Council serves as an advisory body to the pastor. Members are committed to fostering participation in the life and mission of Queen of the Universe parish and to providing ongoing pastoral planning to ensure that the activities and programs of our parish are responsive to the spiritual and pastoral needs of our parish.
The Parish Stewardship Council provides a framework, both spiritual and practical, for the formation of Queen of the Universe parishioners in the meaning and practice of Catholic Stewardship. The council seeks to foster parishioners’ awareness of the ongoing nature of stewardship as a God-centered way of life by providing opportunities for a wide range of spiritual, social, and outreach activities.
