Home and Hospital Pastoral Care Team
Fellow parishioners take time to visit those who are confined to their home or are in the hospital. Members provide emotional and spiritual support during difficult or lonely times.
Aid for Friends
Working with the Frail Elderly Outreach Center this group provides food and friendship to the elderly in our community. Saving leftover foods in the parish freezer and delivery of meals are provided to our elder members who are aging in place.
Mary’s Cupboard
This group helps provide, distribute, and promote emergency food for people in need of food services during difficult times. Food distribution center is located in the Catholic Social Services Building on the campus of St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Levittown.
Health Ministry Team
A group of nurses who provide blood pressure screening on the second Sunday of each month, from September to May, after all the Masses; provide referrals to social agencies who care for medically challenged parishioners; help families when a need is directed to the ministry and send sympathy and get well cards to parishioners. Also looking to inquire about establishing a Parish Nursing Team within Archdiocesan guidelines.
Respect Life Committee
This group promotes respect and protection for all human life, from conception to natural death, through education, care, services, and prayer. Sponsored activities may include Respect Life Sunday in October, Mothers and Fathers Days, “March for Life” in Washington D.C., collection of baby items benefiting local pro-life agencies, and provision of registration forms and pro-life voters’ guides.
Persons with Disabilities Team
This group promotes awareness of the gifts that persons with disabilities brings to our parish community and works with the pastor in forming a plan that all our facilities are hospitable to persons with disabilities. This group also provides outreach and welcome to the larger community within our parish boundaries.
Prayer Line Requests Team
A group of 5-6 parishioners who are called at 7:00 PM each evening from Monday through Friday with the names of parishioners or neighbors who have requested prayers.
Queens Parish Giving Tree and Poor Box
This group establishes a parish giving tree and poor box so that during the Christmas season and other times of the year our parish members in difficult times are provided for.
