“Live as one body and one Spirit, as you were also call to the one hope of your call; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” (Ephesians 4/4-6)
Pre-Jordan Baptism Team
Members of this team assist with meetings for parishioners preparing to have their child baptized. Team couples and single parents are involved in each meeting: sharing personal reflections on their own faith, role of godparents, and Christian parenting. Inter-faith couples (Catholic parent and other Christian denomination parent) and their experience of raising children in the Christian faith of both denominations are most welcome to assist new parents. Teams can also assist in providing hospitality and babysitting during the sessions. They participate in special training to begin their specific services.
Marriage Preparation Team
Members of this team assist twice a year in helping engaged couples prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage. Inter-faith couples (Catholic and other Christian denomination) and their witness of Christian marriage are most welcome to assist engaged couples.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
This is a program for non-Catholics who wish to explore and consider conversion to the Catholic faith. This program also helps Catholics complete their Christian initiation with the Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion. Different topics are covered in weekly meetings that include informal lectures and discussion. Members of the RCIA team meet from September through the following Easter season.
**This program also assists in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) Special gatherings for the children who are at the age of reason who request Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Communion.
Sacred Scripture Study and Seminars
This group meets at various evenings and/or mornings throughout the year to deepen their understanding of the Living Word of God in the Scriptures and in the community. Information and fellowship among parishioners enhance prayer throughout the week. Be a part of the Scripture Study team and inquire on how to be a group facilitator.
Parish Religious Education Teachers and Aides (Prep)
Hundreds of our parish children who go to public school come to the parish for ongoing Catholic education and formation. Adult and young adult teachers are needed so that the children have a strong Christian foundation in our complex and challenging world. Teachers are also needed to help our children with special needs prepare for sacraments. Training and support will be provided for new teachers which are always needed. Aides in the Prep office, classrooms, hallways, doors and parking lots are needed as well. It takes a large number of people to make our large evening school be the best it can be!
Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Adults, young adults and teenagers guide children ages three to six though the Liturgy of the Word lesson and activities during the 10:30 Mass. The program runs from September to May. Leaders are needed while young parents and/or grandparents enjoy a quiet moment at Sunday worship.
Youth Ministry Team
This steering team is made up of parishioners and parish staff members who set the direction and oversee the projects and programs of Youth Ministry in the parish. This new team will design age specific programs that provide inspiration and faith formation for youth at all ages and from various schools. The goal is to foster youth’s spiritual, social, educational, and physical growth through activities that involve faith sharing, fellowship, and service. The goal is to design programs for our parish children from grades K-6, 7and 8th grades, and high school students in connection with parents and coaches involved in athletic ministry and other youth organizations hosted at the parish such as scouts.
