Congratulations on your engagement and your decision to be married in the Catholic Church!
We look forward to meeting you and working with you during this exciting time!
The first simple steps to planning your wedding day are:
- Schedule an appointment through the parish secretary (215) 945-8750 . At this appointment you will meet with one of the parish priests, schedule your wedding date and be given a checklist/materials to aid you in your responsibilities of planning your wedding.
- Register for your Marriage Preparation classes. The Catholic Church requires all couples attend pre-marital instruction. This is sometimes referred to as “Pre Cana”. The guidelines of the Philadelphia Archdiocese instruct parishes that couples participate in pre-marital instruction SIX MONTHS TO TWO YEARS prior to their scheduled wedding date, so it is important to take your class well ahead of when you wish to be married.
- Prepare yourself for your upcoming sacrament by taking time to worship together by attending mass regularly and participating in the sacrament of reconciliation.
- Contact the Director of Liturgical Music, David Westawski, to book your musicians and set up a meeting to select your music.
We understand that there are many details when planning a wedding—it is our mission to share with you the joy of Catholic marriage…your wedding is one day…your marriage is a lifetime.
